Winter arrived in Hakuba

First snow of the coming winter season has arrived in Hakuba.

The winter came overnight to Hakuba with the first snow fall of the winter season 2013/14 - again very early. It didn't surprise us as cold weather (between 0° and 2° C.) settled in a few days ago.

The snow came almost at the same date as last year, when the top lifts at Happo-one and Hakuba47 opened on the 17th November 2012. This time though we didn't receive enough of the white stuff to be able to open any lifts. The trees in our garden are thankful as the leaves are still holding on and a too heavy load would easily break branches as happened last year.
